Our Story

The Safe Well was created with a simple belief: life-saving knowledge should feel accessible to everyone.

After years working in environments where safety training and crisis response were part of everyday work, I began noticing something important — many families and community members never receive this kind of practical training, even though emergencies most often happen at home.

The Safe Well exists to close that gap by offering welcoming, hands-on CPR and safety workshops that help people feel calm, prepared, and confident when it matters most.

HSI Certified CPR & First Aid Trainer

For Nella Miller, the instinct to care for others didn’t begin with The Safe Well—it was something she grew up witnessing every day.

She comes from three generations of caregivers and nurses, women who built their lives around showing up for others in moments of need. Growing up around that legacy shaped how she naturally understood responsibility, preparedness, and the quiet strength it takes to care for people in moments of need. For more than eight years, Nella Miller has worked at the intersection of safety, training, and community care, helping equip over 6,000+ healthcare and behavioral health professionals with the knowledge and confidence to respond in critical moments.

Those experiences, both professional and personal, ultimately led her to create The Safe Well, a space where life-saving knowledge can be shared in a way that feels welcoming, practical, and empowering for everyday families and communities.

Then motherhood made it personal.

Through motherhood—and personal health scares involving loved ones—those lessons took on an even deeper meaning.

Like many parents, Nella began thinking more intentionally about the moments where preparedness matters most:

• knowing what to do if a child is choking
• staying calm during an emergency
• feeling confident responding before professional help arrives

She realized something important.

Many of the people who care for others every day—parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors—are rarely given the opportunity to learn these life-saving skills in a welcoming, approachable way.

The Safe Well was created to change that.

Through hands-on CPR and safety workshops, Nella brings practical emergency knowledge into community spaces—helping parents, caregivers, and organizations feel confident responding when someone needs them.

Because preparedness isn’t about fear.

It’s about care, responsibility, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing you’re ready to help.
